About
Peachy Fest is a fictional festival event created to demonstrate printed design work and formatting, such as a promotional poster series.
The purpose of this project is to showcase practical use of graphic design elements and techniques.
Process
The project began by brainstorming an event to create the poster series for. Every summer I used to go to a family summer festival that had live stage performances, food vendors, music, dances and more. So I decided to base it on that festival event and make my own version.
Once I chose the topic and name, I chose the colours and fonts I wanted to use for the project. Then I created the peach logo design and the other image elements in Photoshop. I added them to the project and added some additional designs and patterns to add some more contrasting elements to the design.
Lastly I added a scannable QR code at the bottom. Many people have their smartphones on them and QR codes are a good way to interact with people and gain interest by linking to a website, or having a text message sent to their cellphone.
